Jarell Quansah Tested against Albania’s main danger in their forward. Operated in a central role to begin with but moved out wide once Saka was introduced. 7

The young full-back One more assured showing by the 20-year-old after his debut against Serbia. Saka was unable to take the most of a clever touch behind their defense. His position is firmly his already. 7
Adam Wharton A debut start in an England shirt. Somewhat careless when playing out however his dangerous deliveries were a threat. A handy game manager available to the coach to have versus sides that sit back. Shown a yellow for a rash foul. 6
Declan Rice Set-pieces from corners and free kicks created chances. Had license to roam on the left yet found himself offside upon receiving with a chance to score. Granted a deserved break on the hour mark. 6
The star midfielder Operated in a forward spot on the right and put in the hard yards. Showed moments of class but dragged an effort over. Withdrawn late on for a teammate, his competition, after being booked. 7
Jarrod Bowen Had England’s best chance before halftime, his effort excellently kept out from Thomas Strakosha. As Quansah hanging back, he was forced to provide width on the right yet his deliveries into the box were hit and miss. Taken off with 15 to go. 6
The captain The decisive figure with his 77th and 78th strikes in an England shirt. The opener a classic opportunist's goal while the second a superb headed goal following a clever run off his defender. Now 32, he continues to improve and the side have every chance in future competitions with him up top. 8
