Brian Eno Encourages Support to Send Together for Palestine Track to UK Christmas No 1.

A campaign is aiming to propel a Palestinian lullaby to the Christmas number one spot. The campaign aims to provide aid to people in Gaza while also highlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.

A Chance for Solidarity and an "Chart Upset"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a chance to show solidarity with Palestinians during the holidays. He remarked the potential for an surprise number one.

“That would be amazing if that occurred, yes,” he commented. “I wouldn't be completely disheartened if it doesn’t, holiday tracks are a unique phenomenon.”

Resilient Spirit of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the adaptation of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's resilient spirit.

“It occupies a very special place for countless listeners,” Barghouti said. “It’s basically saying that I would prefer a dignified death than exist without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we desire to exist a respectful existence that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Star-Studded Lineup

The track was produced following a solidarity show held in September. Initially planned to be done as a live recording, the rendition was omitted from the lengthy event due to time constraints.

The impressive roster of performers contributing to Lullaby encompasses a selection of prominent voices from the music world. All participated in the earlier concert, which successfully generated a significant sum for relief efforts.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was produced by a trio of producers and composers. The track showcases a fusion of the heritage language with new English lyrics.

The team running the initiative have clarified that their objective is to collect the highest amount for a specific fund. These donations will be distributed to Palestinian causes through an established charity.

“We don’t have a rigid aim,” a spokesperson commented. “We aim for whatever we can get. Of course, the more the merrier. It all goes out to those in need in Gaza.”

The reality in the area was characterized as its widespread damage, with a vast majority of infrastructure said to be levelled or seriously harmed.

“Given that reality, a handful of millions won't make a massive dent. But I think what truly matters is above all making this cause better known and demonstrating there’s another side to the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is launching at the end of the week. Additionally, a video of the charity concert will be made ready to watch on a popular streaming site from later in the month.
