Beloved Performer The actor Pat Finn, Famed For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.
US entertainer Pat Finn, who featured in popular television series such as "Friends", Seinfeld and "The Middle", has succumbed aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California recently after undergoing cancer treatment since 2022, according to news outlets.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives stated in a statement.
They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".
A Notable Television Career
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.
He was also seen in a regular part on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, portraying a social organizer known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.
Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of well-known programs, like:
- The King of Queens
- "Friends"
- "That '70s Show"
- "House"
Finn was perhaps best known for portraying Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits are It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Beyond the Screen
Outside of his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was involved with a six-member improv team known as Beer Shark Mice.
"He taught, supported, and inspired countless students throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find a person anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Paying homage, fellow actor Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he shared on social media.
Finn is remembered by his spouse Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
